July - August 2009
Sunday 30th August
Really lovely news today that Rattan has won her second RCC under judge, Freda Marshall at SKC. Yet again, we weren't there to see it happen - hopefully next time!!! Congratulations from all of us on this super win!
Well done too, to Sadie (Peasblossom Dream for Amandian) for finishing third in Minor Puppy Bitch and qualifying for Crufts at her first attempt.
Lastly, a great photo of Toby (Sadie's brother) at six months, added to the Photo Gallery. Thank you to his owners for sending it to us.
Wednesday 19th August
No news of note of our own but congratulations to Inger, Quandis and all at Kennel Desperado in Norway on the birth of Seamus' latest children. Seven puppies, two boys and five girls and this time, some black and whites. With our very best wishes for the future!
Weather here has been unbelievably and unbearably hot. No shows until early next month by which time we hope to have confirmation (or not!) of Lila's forthcoming litter. In the meantime, we wish good luck to the six month old Peasblossom pups making their show debuts at SKC next weekend.
Tuesday 4th August
Some exciting puppy news! Dave has been out in Poland mating Lila to Linmoor Zimply Zalient. A slight change around of plans as she is in season earlier than expected but really something to look forward to! Click here for more details and some photos of 'Zeneck'.
Sunday 2nd August
A hideous day at National Gundog with rain more or less all day and mud everywhere. The judge for the day was Margaret Jamieson who was standing in for Carolyn Muirhead. Not a bad day again for us with Seamus winning Open Dog and finishing with the Reserve CC, making that the third one on the trot for us! Kye was 4th in Graduate Dog and Holly 2nd in Graduate Bitch. Seamus' son, Toash (Gaolachara Oghma) won Junior Dog too so that was good.
A couple of new photos added to Seamus' offspring page and a new one too of Holly winning RCC at Leeds (thank you Pam!) No more show news for a while, we are having a few weeks off!
Wednesday 29th July
A little photo gallery added today - just of the dogs playing the garden. We are off to National Gundog on Saturday with a change of judge. Not sure what to expect but we'll give it a go...!
Monday 27th July
A nice trip up to the Leeds Championship Show on Saturday, under judge Ray Smithc (Melverly). culminating in a second RCC for Holly on the trot. Leeds has definitely been kind to us in the last few years. Seamus was placed second in Open to the eventual CC winner, Trimere Talking Point of Allenie who went on to finish BOB and Group 4! Well done to Richard, Anthony and Eric for flying the springer flag so successfully! Holly won her Graduate class, Lila finished 2nd in what we thought was a really lovely Limit class and Izzie, fourth in Open. Overall a really good day. Hopefully some photos to follow soon.
Thursday 23rd July
No news for a while as the webmaster (!) has been away in Sweden. I was invited to judge at Helene and David's jubilee show in celebration of their twenty years of breeding Barecho English Springers. Thanks for the wonderful opportunity and really super day. I have been asked to write an overview of the day so click here for more details and some photographs. I suspect that this might also appear, in Swedish, and with many more photos on the Barecho homepage very soon! Thank you to AnnSofie and Sari for the photos......
Two days later I attended the Springerklubben annual club show in Hogbo. Another lovely day with great weather and great dogs. This show was judged by Kelly Jenkinson (dogs) and Jan Wood (bitches). Click here for some pictures of the winning springers. Really nice to be there to see Seamus' son, Barecho Want Some Fun finish BPIS and his sire, Barecho Fun For The Future, Best Veteran. The day after we were at another show, an international dog show at Koping. I think this is pronouced 'Sherping' - is it any wonder that we can't speak any Swedish even after all this time!!? At this show, the main winners were Barecho Fun For The Future (BOB) and Barecho One Vision (BOS).
Sunday 12th July
Yesterday we went to East of England Champ Show under judge Carrie Robinson (Baldragon). We had a good day all round as both Kye and Holly won their respective classes. Seamus finished third in Open Dog. Lila was also third in Limit Bitch, her first time up with the big girls and Ninja was VHC in the same class. We were thrilled to have both girls placed in what was a lovely class, especially as it was Ninja's first time at a champ show! To round off a super day, Holly was awarded the Reserve CC, her first! All the hours spent trimming and bathing paid off .... or should that be days...!!!!
It was also our first opportunity to see Seamus' two children from Scotland, Kaila and Toash (Gaolachara Cliodna and Gaolachara Oghma). They are coming on nicely, are in beautiful condition and both did well in their classes, Toash winning the Puppy Dog class and finishing third in Junior Dog, Kaila second in both Puppy Bitch and Junior Bitch. Some new photos of them have been added to Seamus' Offspring page (go to the bottom of his page to view). Finally a mention for Rattan, Peasblossom Butterfly at Beresford who also put in an appearance yesterday to finish second in Post Graduate Bitch. Well done from all of us!
Thursday 9th July
Thank you first of all for the cards, emails and messages left on our Guestbook about Summer. We will miss her very much but know that she is sleeping peacefully now.
Today we have added some new photographs of Seamus taken by Inger Handegård of Kennel Desperado in Norway. They can be viewed at the very bottom of Seamus' dedicated page. Thank you Inger, for allowing us to use them.
We have also added a little video clip of Izzie taken when she was only about four months old. Dave found this 'unseen footage' on an old camera and we were able to download it. She is amusing herself with her toys in the garden. You can find that at the bottom of Izzie's own page.
Finally, a photo of Freddie, (Peasblossom Daydreamer) added to the Photo Gallery (main menu) witnessing his first attempt with a chicken wing. Apparently it took him an hour to work out what to do with it...
More news soon, we have five dogs entered for a show on Saturday so have lots to do between now and then!
